    Talent Conversation

Great talents need to be engaged. We recognise that high performing employees feel more involved in the business if they understand the plans in place. This is not a performance review but an opportunity for our talents to voice their point of view and be involved in a great organisation.

Working Mothers Care & Technology

We are here to help. We understand that being a young mother and balancing work can be a handful. We have a plan in place to help young mothers through this transitioning period. Technologies like BlackBerry, PDAs and web based email systems will allow young mothers to spend a portion of their time working from home. We believe that a happy home and work environment is important and works best for our people and organisation.

Giving Back to the Community

The belief among our people is that a firm that does good in the community will do good as an organisation as well. We want to not only be recognised for being a great law firm, but also remembered for the good we have done.

Below is a showcase of initiatives we are active in:

  • RHT Rajan Menon Foundation

Name after our founding father and Senior Partner Rajan Menon, the Foundation acts as a vehicle through which the RHT Group of Companies contributes to its charitable endeavours. Capitalising on our ASEAN presence, we hope to spread the reach of our Foundation across ASEAN and eventually to the rest of Asia.

RHT Subhas Anandan Bursary and Scholarship awards

This is an initiative our late Mr Subhas will be proud of and we honour his charitable ways by giving back to our people. The Bursary is open to the children of all staff of RHTLaw Taylor Wessing and the RHT Group of Companies. The scholarship is for our Associates and staff who are attending tertiary education or any qualification relevant to their field of work.

    Year-long Community Engagement Programmes

In line with SG50 and to show our appreciation to our fellow Singaporeans, we are kicking off the following activities:

    • Free legal clinics in the heartlands of Singapore and pro-bono services to charities and non-profit organisations

    • Education fund for underprivileged Singaporean school children

    • Overseas missions to embark on poverty alleviation projects

    • Donation and Fundraising campaigns.
      Organisations we support are

      • Children’s Cancer Foundation
      • World Wide Fund for Nature, Singapore
      • Singapore Road Safety Council

  • We also encourage and support our staffs with their own community initiative. One such example is Christabel Lim, who despite her busy schedule still finds time go on overseas mission trips and help the needy.

    INTERNSHIP FAQ

    Are my grades important?

You are where you are today because you have what it takes and academic results, though important, is no entirely the true measure of your ability. We also want to see what you can do as opposed to what you have already done. Amongst other things, we also look for abilities, CCAs, your values and your vision, and base it on the needs of the practice.

Here at RHTLaw Taylor Wessing, we feel that you will require a minimum of 1 month to fully experience the breadth of work and office culture.

Will I be allocated to the area that I am interested in?

We will try our best to suit your learning needs. If you are interested to rotate between Practices during your term with us, that can be arranged as well.

Who will I be working with?

Your mentor will be a Partner within the firm. We believe in an open, direct working relationship between Partners and Interns. You may also be required to shadow Associates and Paralegals to expose you to the full rigour of legal work.

    Practice Training Contract

As a firm that is driven to help clients succeed, our people are constantly challenged to raise their game and add value to clients and their businesses. Although at times challenging, our work makes life rewarding for our people as well.

As much as we would be guiding you throughout your training contract, do expect to be thrown into the deep end to fend for yourself and quickly find your feet. You have to learn to be self-motivated and responsible for the tasks entrusted to you.

The best way to learn is to get hands-on experience as you learn at a faster rate and would be in a position to better appreciate that experience. After all, we think of you as a potential colleague, and we have a vested interest in ensuring that you become a very good lawyer. That said, our partners are always there to help and guide you along. We have an open-door policy which we are very proud of.

    How do I apply?

Prepare and deposit the following with us by clicking on the “Apply Now” button below. Please note that all applications will close by 30 April of the year preceding the year that you would like to commence your training contract. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
